Torsion bar clips

So I was replacing suspension components, including bigger torsion bars and I found that my car evidently had no torsion bar retaining clips.  I ordered new ones for the new bars but I was wondering how dangerous this was.  Obviously nothing had happened in the year that i've had the car, but...

I found the same clips missing when I did my front end rebuild. Dang that idiot Bubba and all his work, if I could get my hands on that guy...

IMO it is not that serious , the bar would have to be completelu unloaded to move so you would have had to be driving on seriously rough roads or been airborne & even still would the bar move I doubt it , it is just a safety device

Same here. I drove mine around for about 10 years without them.

At least in my case, far dumber. I think I didn't install them right the first time I redid my front suspension.
