Virus on cc.com?
« on: April 24, 2010 - 09:59:31 PM »
I was on this site a little while ago & got a pop-up from my anti-virus saying that I had just been attacked.  I can't remember what thread I had just been to.  Anybody else have this problem?

Yesterday a web site tried to direct me to theirs. I just logged off and re started to avoid it.

Happened twice for me , both Wed. and Thurs., notice from anti virus program informed me they had "kicked" them out. Just before I got the last notice it was like the site had froze up, nothing would open, but after shutting down and getting back on all was good.?

Do you use McAfee antivirus software?  They recently released an update that allowed previous code to mutate the new code into a virus.  So they say.  I won't go into my conspiracy on that but anyway, just be aware McAfee just released an update that acts like a virus.

I just clicked on the post about a trade rimblow for a wood wheel and all of a sudden my McAffee said it took out 3 trojans.  It has done this twice in 2 days here. My computer seems to be fine, and I didnt feel it was the post, but maybe the picture?  I have never had a problem with trojans before.

McAfee doesn't keep their virus program very up to-date, a lot of viruses get past and can be miss interpreted by that program.   :2cents:

I run AVG and haven't had any warnings, I update daily to keep on top of any potential problems, too many of my friends have had problems with viruses with Nortons, their other programs are OK though.   :2cents:

I'm running "Avast!" and no warning from this site.
I use to have Norton & McAfee but no longer.  I find the FREE Antivirus programs work very well.

Panda Antivirus was my favorite till they dropped their free option then AVG and Avast became my favorites.  I have found, however, that any antivirus used in conjunction with smart internet usage trumps any MEGA AWESOME anti-virus/malware/spamware software out there.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.
