Had the Cuda on the Dyno today......

We just made some minor adjustment to the fuel curve but it did ok for a crate motor making  460 HP and 451 lbs of torque at the wheels. That would be about 530 HP at the flywheel so the Mopar rating is very close. Might have been able to get another 15 or 20 HP out of it by giving it more timing but we did not push it as I was not looking for HP just good drivability. We could not make it start quicker, the AEM sensor just has to read the cam sensor so many times.

Awsome.   How many runs did you get to make?  What is the engine anyways?  I forget, sorry. But anything with that hp to the rear wheels makes a good competitor

We added 2 degrees of timing and that helped the fuel curve. Other than that no real modifications. I am sure that if you really got aggressive with it you could get more HP out of it but that was not my goal. Hell, I still have not gotten the nerve to drive the darn thing. I think I have the worlds biggest matchbox car.

How much timing are you running? The MSD Hemi 6 controller I used on my 5.7 came with only 25 deg. total advance and I haven't hooked a laptop up to it yet to play with the timing. I was told by someone else who is involved in dyno'ing these engines that they have found 22-23 degrees to be optimum, which sounds kind of slow to me.

The factory default was at 20 deg. and we moved it to 22. I don't think that you will need more than 23 or 24 deg.

Thanks! That confirms what the other guy told me. I guess these engines just have a lot more efficient combustion than a wedge or the older hemis. Great looking install BTW!
