Anyone using Flowmaster 40's

There is a guy selling Flowmaster 40's in 3" around here.  They are brand new, in the box.  I was wondering if anyone had them and if they liked them or not.  Also, I see that there are different styles, inlets on the side with the outlet in the middle, or visaversa.  Can anyone help?  Thank!

Not everyone! I HATE them. Not because they're loud either. Makes everything sound like a new mustang.  And they drone pretty badly at mid range rpm's. They just have this tinny echo to them.

I run summit glasspaks.

I had Flowmaster Delta Flow 40's on my Challenger for a while. I got tired of the Flowmaster sound though and now only run Magnaflows.

Sorry, count me in as another that's not too much into Flowmasters.  All the trucks have them around here.  Don't know if it's a muscle car or a Chevy pick up coming around the corner.

Loud is good but it's the sound quality I'm not used to.  My friend has them on his '68 Charger.  IMO sounds like his exhaust is emptying into metal garbage cans.

I guess I'm used to the turbo muffler sound.  It's like the sound the Mad Max Interceptor police car had in the open chase scene of Mad Max.

I got the super 40's with the Flowmaster dual 3" exhaust kit. I dont like them much either. They are way too loud for me but everyone that hears them likes them. I would rather get something like spintechs myself.

I run Dynomax Superturbos in my 440 Challenger and the sound is mint! Deep and aggressive without being TOO loud. At the end of the day, stock pipes aren't quiet so there really is no need to go overboard with volume IMO. I plan to get Dynomax Superturbos w/TTI system for our 'Cuda. From what I have heard through clips, in person and the owners themselves is the Flowmasters often sound very tinny.

Wow, nobody likes them.  The guy said that he has a few vehicles that I can hear them run on...not sure what they are.  I guess I will have to hear them myself.

The ones I have the inlets and outlets on opposite sides like the first pic you show.

   Sorry, not to confuse things but I thought either the inlet or outlet has to be cenetered, like the second pic?

inlet is normally off center & close to the driveshaft , the outlet is normally centered for most prebent pipe

I've got twin 4" flowmasters under my 69 notch barracuda.
They are loud and proud!!!
A little too loud though.I had to make a couple of baffles to shove up their ass to bring the noise dwn to close to legal levels.
I just pull the baffles to race though.Takes about 60 seconds.
Sure beats rolling round on the grass dropping exhaust systems though
