Things are really looking up. I am very pleased with the insurance company that is paying for the work so far. They cut a check to the body shop today and work has begun. They didn't question the body shops estimate. The sheet metal is on order. NOS trim pieces are on the way. New gas tank, Complete New TTI exhaust. New quarters, new trunk lid, new valance. Complete repaint of whole car. He hopes to have it back to me in 30 - 45 days. The shop will be posting progress pics on their website every couple of days. I will post a link once they start showing up. This shop seems to be top notch. Thanks to everyone for your moral support.
Jay
So good to hear! Even if it took twice that long, that'd seem like a reasonable time for the amount of work that will have to be done.

Funny you should ask. Yes I am staying with the same color. That is a standing joke around my house. My wife still hasn't got use to Citron Yella. She wishes I would have stayed with the red it was before I redid it this last time. Everyone that knows me usually asks me if I'm going to change it back to red just to raz me. My sister told me to change it back to red. She said if it was red I wouldn't have gotten hit. I told her it is glow in the dark yellow. Her come back was, "it never got hit when it was red". You can never win an argument with a woman.   :faint:

Sprecks-
Excellent news!!  I can't believe the fast action on the insurance's part.
Do you get a voice as to where the parts are ordered from?
- Say JC Whittney vs YO?
- Keep an eye out for quality parts (if you can)

Here again, hope it all works out for you in the positive.
Ron

I know some have been asking so for anyone interested, the shop doing the work is "Fifth Dimension Collision" in Champaign, Illinois. Their website is www.5dcollision.com
Scroll down on the home page and there are projects in progress. My car isn't on there yet but should be soon.
The insurance company that has been taking care of this for me is "American Family Insurance". This is not my insurance company. This is the company that represents the gal that hit me.

Glad to hear that you're staying with the Citron Yella.  That color looks awesome on that car with the white top and white stripe.   :droolingbounce:

:2thumbs: This is some great news !  And like Aussie Challenger said the other insurance company knew they pretty much were in a corner, besides if they are smart they will use this incident (with pics) as positive promotion and advertising. I have heard other postive comments about American Family  But the best part is you will get your baby back before too long, hope the shop does a great job for you.   :clapping:

Wow.  I have to admit, one of my biggest fears is being stuck dealing with a run of the mill insurance company after an accident in my Challenger.  If it ever does happen, I can only hope they have as much integrity as the company you're dealing with.  Good luck on the repairs!  Keep a close eye on them!!!
