Just received a call telling me my mom had passed away sometime eariler this morning. She was 81 last January and has been steadly declining for the past couple of years. Some disease (can't recall the name) that just slowly shut down her body response/functions. But even to this day she required no medications, and up until the last couple weeks she was mentally allert even though she could not speak. She was "comfortable", not expericensing any pain. And dying during her sleep I guess is as good a way to pass on as any. She had been living with my one sister, she had 24 hour care from either my sister or a nurse (home care) and the last few days hospice workers/doctors as well. Thankfully her estate and family allowed her to be at home, not requiring to be sent to a nursing home, quite costly but what she had requested.
She was a caring and loving woman and mother, she lived peacefully and died peacefully.
Thank you.
