Would appreciate your thoughts
« on: May 02, 2010 - 08:44:14 AM »
Just received a call telling me my mom had passed away sometime eariler this morning. She was 81 last January and has been steadly declining for the past couple of years. Some disease (can't recall the name) that just slowly shut down her body response/functions. But even to this day she required no medications, and up until the last couple weeks she was mentally allert even though she could not speak. She was "comfortable", not expericensing any pain. And dying during her sleep I guess is as good a way to pass on as any. She had been living with my one sister, she had 24 hour care from either my sister or a nurse (home care) and the last few days hospice workers/doctors as well. Thankfully her estate and family allowed her to be at home, not requiring to be sent to a nursing home, quite costly but what she had requested.

She was a caring and loving woman and mother, she lived peacefully and died peacefully.  :angelwings:  Thank you.  :sadwavey:

Jim your family will be in our prayers for sure.     :angelwings:     Very sorry to here the news. I lost my dad over 20 years ago and my mother 15 years ago. It's not at all easy to go through this.  Like you said it sounded like the best way to go but it still don't make it much easer.

:angelwings: First off Jim my condolences to you and your family. I also have gone through this life event not so long ago with my father, and my mother is now starting to fail. It is a sad time indeed when we have to deal with this reality that we all must face. My self personally ...when i start to get down about it try to think about the happy and special times that i had with them when they were alive on this earth, and know that someday down the road we will be back together again. I guess we must try to enjoy the moments we have when together with our loved ones and dont swet the small stuff in life. Take care and be well. :angelwings: Brian

my condolences to you and yours , Jim.  It`s good knowing your mom was still able to make choices which path she wanted to take.  81 is a respectable age, but when it`s one of your parents, age suddenly doesn`t mean a thing ,does it...
take care,   :sadwavey:
