Junkyard Fish
« on: May 03, 2010 - 12:51:13 PM »
This is the Barracuda that will most likely turn to dirt at the place I work. My boss said it got dropped off in the early 90's. One day back when I first started there about 9 years ago one of the loader drivers forked it through the windshield and put it on the top of the scrap pile. Man my boss was pissed. Not that anythng was ever gonna happen with the car.

That's a shame. I have seen E-Bodies in worse shape brought back to life. Heck, it probably didn't look all that bad back in the early 90's.

Yeah, from the outside that looks very salvageable.  Is it bad on the bottom?

I have seen worse aka the Mustclank next to it.  Also I am still supprised at how well it has faired for so long unprotected. We have newer cars worse off and only been there a year or so.

If it was on top of a scrap pile for the majority of this time that would have helped preserve it, it would have stayed in dryer air.

Let's see if I've got this right.......

Your boss was pissed at the fork-er because he really, really wanted to let this car sit outside, continue to rust and be ultimately useless?   :clueless:

If you only knew my boss.  We also have a old 70's box truck in the yard because it has a 454 in it. You would think that he would of let the sales guys sell it but nooooo. Also 2 complete T-birds a 73 and 74 both green. Also not FUBAR but cant touch those.
However I was offered that if I wanted to spend the time I could pull and put some of the Fish parts on ebay but god forbid if they didn't go for the gold he thiks they are worth.  If I do though I would for sure post the pics of the parts here for you guys. There is some useable stuff there.
