Looking to buy a new set of headers
« on: May 04, 2010 - 05:03:31 PM »
I am looking to replace my headers on my 440,old ones are comp hookers "future boat anchors :bananasmi ".
I am looking for the best plug/starter clearance or at least better then the hookers.
What is the best type to get ,my exhaust pipes are 2 1/2.
I am looking at http://ttiexhaust.com/Header-TTI440-200/BB2headers.htm
will these work with the original starter ?

the TTI or the Dougs are the best fit
the TTI will work with either the orignal or mini starter

I just ordered a set of schumacker shorties.  I was told these are easy to install and have plenty of clearence for plugs and the started.  I am putting them on a 71 challenger with a 440.  I am taking of a set of super competion hookers.  The passenger side is to low.  I was told with the shorties they won't hang down under the car.  I have lowered mine a little with 17 rims and 40/ 245 tires.  So the headers were dragging on speed bumps.  As soon as I get them and get them mounted I will let you know how they worked out.
