Motorcycle riders.......................
« on: May 06, 2010 - 09:07:04 PM »
Just a friendly reminder to please be VERY careful and VERY cautious when riding.
I saw a girl riding a motorcycle this morning get hit by a car right in front me on the way to work.
Some muthaf  :swear: d!ckhead pulled right out in front of her and she went flying.
She was still lying on the ground motionless when I left.
Really hope she's ok and got away with minors injuries and was just wise enough not to move till paramedics got there.
Anyhoo, I'm sure you are all safe, but just wanted to keep it up in the front of your minds.

One of my buddies also died a few years ago on his bike  :sadwavey: :angelwings:

PLEASE, take care and watch out for all the A-holes operating all around you when you are out and about  :2thumbs:

 :iagree:

In California, the traffic informations sign are now saying this...

"Share the Road look twice for motorcyclist"

I stoped riding years ago because of "blanked blank" drivers.  :villagers:

I don't ride but a few of my buddies do. One quoted as saying..."When riding, think of yourself as though you are invisible." Made perfect sense.

Thats what I do when I ride.....or at least try.

So many inconsiderate, unattentive @ssholes on the road.

Look at what happened to me this past february?  My little accident could have been bad. All I can say is the guy was a MORON.

Scarier still is that he is still driving.

I won't give up riding for them though.....

I mean, look at what just happened to Jay.......are w gonna give up driving our pride-and-joys?

Here's a thread like Jay's over on the a body forum

Thanks for the reminder & sentiment.  I've ridden most of my life, and my son just bought his first motorcycle and he's already commuting in & out of Atlanta.  Stupid B*%#H almost hit me head on in the Barracuda yesterday because she was too busy doing other things to keep her SUV in her own lane.  I swear if I could get some of these people out of their cars I'd be in jail after I was done with them....

Everyone be safe in/on whatever you drive/ride.

This is about two weeks after I went down. Every other day visiting the burn unit taking hot tub baths and getting the skin sluffed off. Butt cheeks, elbows, legs,...... basically all the high spots were ground down a little.

In all fairness the ass-hattery is all around,  not just unaware car jockies.  Some of the worst drivers I've ever seen have been on motorbikes, and the last near miss I had was because of one doing unsafe weaving lane changes over the speed limit, nearly running into a car who was already mostly into the lane he weaved into; he swerved back out and came within inches of my Jeep's driver's side front fender before shooting past.

We just had some woman convicted locally last week of negligent homicide, who was driving along while doing her nails and didn't notice the light ahead of her had turned red.  She rear ended a motorcycle stopped at the light and the lady motorcyclist was killed.
Most of my buddies who rode ended up killed or injured in accidents, some their fault, others the fault of another driver.
Motorcycles are fun, but with all the incompetent drivers out there drinking, texting, yacking on cell phones, eating, doing nails, etc, when they are supposed to be concentrating 100% on driving their 2 ton vehicles,  riding is like playing Russian roulette today, it just isn't worth risking one's life to do. :2cents:

A friend of a friend is a sponsored pro AMA racer. He rides for Yamaha, I believe, and has been at the top of the field for the past several years. He is a bonifide star in the AMA Superbike. Josh, also, doesn't even have a street bike and doesn't ride on the street. Turns out that many pro racers don't ride on the street. This is like a NASCAR driver not having a daily driver.

I have been riding consistently for around 33 years... been down once many years ago (knock on wood!). I treat ALL other vehicles on the road as threats. Becomes second nature after a short time.  :2cents:
