What a sad day here. But the Sharks definitely deserved to win. Congratulations to them and their fans. That is a great team, and I hope they make it to the Cup finals.
As for the Wings, they have a few adjustments to make. I am hoping (in vain, I'm sure) that they get a coach. Someone who understands that a goaltender with 3 Stanley Cup rings should be played down the stretch, in case you need him in the playoffs. And a coach who understands that your best face-off guy (Draper) should take at least SOME face-offs in the first 3 games of a series, particularly when your team is getting killed on face-offs (4 of which lead to goals against). A coach who can motivate his team to learn from mistakes and not repeat them (like having 3 guys caught deep in the zone, and giving up turnovers). A coach who will actually question the refs when ridiculous calls are made, or talk to his players during timeouts, instead of standing there chomping his gum. OK...off my soapbox now.
But a lot of us here in Hockeytown are rooting for the Sharks now. Go get 'em! Oh...and GO HABS!
