I dont drip anymore
« on: May 10, 2010 - 05:46:30 AM »
I decided to install "something" to catch the radiator overflow.

I know that if you let the system kind of work itself out, it will find its level....but it seems like mine gets REALLY low.....plus, I park on a lot of hills and that seems to add to the issue...was getting tired of leaving my mark at every cruise...LOL

So I installed this....

It was like $8 at Autozone.  I dont like cluttering up my bay more, but until I can find a better solution this will work.

Would like to get something that will fit between the gril and rad support on the right side maybe, or something to mount under the battery tray maybe....this is just too big.

But like I said, it works.   I may swap out the clear tubing that came with it though...its like a neon green hose when it has juice in it..LOL

What are the dimensions on that and where di you find it?

Not sure it would fit my 72...the grill seems to protrude further back towards the rad support compared to yours....

Shad,
I did a similar container to tommyg's.  Found it in a junkyard on a Ford Festiva...$5 or so.  I've got pics somewhere.

about 8" tall by 3". Lots of different versions are available.
Check out jegs and summit. Mines powdercoated aluminum, set up as an expansion tank (it fills from the bottom) or you can set it up as an overflow bottle.
Maybe you can mount it inside the support, alongside the radiator?
