I called a friend of mine that works for Ebay. He goes into work tomorrow and will take care of everything for me.

Make sure they send out the eBay mafia & squash that kid! ;D

Better luck on round 2, Burpin. The ad looked good.

I think the scam goes like this. This guy hi-jacked this other guys account. and did a bunch of buy it nows. When I contacted him about the deposite he replied I sent the money when will you ship. There was a link included with his email that I clicked on. It was the ebay sign in page. so when I signed in with my password it went to an invalid item page. My friend said that is how they get your password. That the link he sent recorded my password and now he has it. So I had to go in a change my password twice for extra protection. Once was enough im sure. My friend said 20k accounts are hi-jacked everyday. that ebay has major problems. So I will relist without the buy it now feature in a couple of days after this gets resolved. The good thing is I can give a better discription as yall could see it kept growing as more and more people asked specific questions.

WOW!! 20k every day? :o  I knew there was a scamming problem, but never thought it was that bad!

The whole scamming thing has been going on for a while now, I'm surprised that eBay hasn't gone belly up by now if that's how bad it is. Word of mouth is a powerful thing & if enough people get burned, it's going to affect eBay right in the wallet.

Oh well again, good luck with your 2nd try, I hope it goes better for ya!

He also said that was a very small percentage since there are 1.5 million ebay members and more being added everyday.

Burpin', the same thing happened to me. I had to change my passwords on both my eBay account and the email account that eBay has on file in order to contact me. Slight hassle but all is well now on my end and should be for you as well. That won't happen to either of us again.

My account id had been blocked even though i had changed it's password. I went through eBay's Security Center, and then to Live Chat. One of the Live Chat prerequisites was to change the email password that eBay has on file to contact me. Did you go through these steps as well?

Actually i should have been a little more clear on my last response. My current email address is ok but for eBay's security purposes i was asked to change the password i use to access my email account. That way all possible passwords that could have been spoofed are rendered useless. The whole Live Chat process took about twenty five minutes at around 4am cst this past wednesday. Plus about five minutes to change my email password right before i initiated the Live Chat.
