Reproduction AM/FM radio!!
« on: May 11, 2010 - 10:06:05 AM »
I was just on Year One's website and they now offer a reproduction AM/FM stereo for E-bodies, that has jacks for an Ipod and CD player. The part number is AMF49. It's not cheap at $595, but at least its available. Below is a description from their website.

"These radios are an exact reproduction of the originals but equipped with the latest technology internally. Fits in dash with no modifications. 4 x 45 watts RMS output allows up to 180 watts of power. Digitally tuned AM/FM/Stereo front end provides stable, high quality reception. The AM/FM dial scale looks like the original and the slide bar functions like the original. The LED lights in the radio never need replacing. 7/16" diameter shafts for mounting exactly match the originals. Memory retention for pushbuttons and user settings. RCA jacks provided for MP3, CD player or satellite radio connection."

Oh my gosh. This is SO tempting.   :pullinghair:

I wonder if this has connectors like the originals? My problem here is my wiring is hacked, so I would have to hack this radio wiring to meet my sub-standard wiring harness.

I bought one of them for my Cuda from Mike at http://www.mikehaganantiqueautoradio.com/. I believe he gets them from the same manufacturer as Year One: Antique Automobile Radio, Inc. I haven't installed the radio yet, but it looks great and Mike was wonderful to work with.
