Remembering a really cool day.
« on: May 11, 2010 - 10:37:39 PM »
A while back my dad was flying out of El Paso Texas to help a friend move to our town. He had initially intended to drive his truck and dove tail to Arizona, help her pack, carry her Tahoe back on his trailer while she drove a U-haul. I convinced him that it would be better to fly. He would actually save money and also wear and tear on his truck.
I offered to drive him in my truck but since he smokes and I dont he told me he would drive his truck down and I would then drive it back.
I had a plan to look at a guitar while I was there since I spied it on craigslist a few days before. Well the day of the trip he shows up in the Viper. Needless to say I was a happy camper. I have driven the car several times but never more than 25 miles one way. El Paso is 160 miles away.
We had a great day, ate Chico's Taco's, visited an old friend and I bought the guitar     The real fun began when I drove home. Absolutely gorgeous day to drive top down. Nice and cool with lots of clouds. I have a few pics of the trip and thought I would share them. You should have seen the agents at the Border Patrol checkpoint when I drove up in a Viper, carrying nothing but a guitar case lol. The guy just smiled and told me to have fun. I assured him I was having a blast.

An Agile 3100. Its a Les Paul knockoff. Really nice though. Solid mahogony, its heavy. Mine is exactly like in the pics only with a black pick guard. After a buddy set it up and put a strobe tuner on it, it really came to life. I really like it. Paid 350 with a black case like in the pics.

That's wide open country down there...did you open up the Viper on those long straight roads?  :2thumbs: Haven't been down to El Capitan in a long time....that pic brings back some memories from the oil field days  :grinyes:

Lets just say that passing was a breeze lol. I dont think I got it much over 130 but I let it out. The thing is awesome and in 6th I believe it is still under 2500rpm at 100 mph lol.

Nice looking axe! Not too bad at $350!!!  Enjoy plucking strings on the new toy.
