They will work together even irf it stalls at 3500 you have over 2000 rpm that you can drop between gears if you shift at 5700 & you are probably dropping about 1600 rpm between gears now. You probably want to stay closer to 2500-2800 rpm stall if you drive it on the street a lot though , it will unlock the converter , create a lot of heat from slippage & eat a lot of fuel city or highway. Make sure you run an auxilary trans cooler as well .
You may want to look at the 2330 cam it has the same top rpm range with more bottom end & you could run a a milder converter too
