Leak at banjo, is this ridged surface correct????
« on: May 16, 2010 - 06:49:25 PM »
I would have thought the surface where the copper banjo washer seats should be flat. Should it have these ridges? Do I just need to crunch it harder? I thought I had it pretty tight.....
This is my new '' The Right Stuff '' Disc brake kit, other than this little problem, the system looks pretty good. It's a simple install!

My MP Disc brake banjo connection was also difficult to seal.  I had to replace the copper washers they sent and then seriously tighten up the bolt to stop the leaks.  A PITA for sure  :grinyes:

Glennster,
How has the Right Stuff kit been working for you?  I'm thinking about picking one up?

Thanks!

make sure the washers are correct. In the picture it almost looks like the outside diameter is a little big. make sure they fit down flush  :2cents:

:iagree: and you can heat them gently with a propane torch and drop them in a pan of water to anneal them and make them a wee bit softer to conform better.  :2cents:
