Steering Column Connections - EZ Wiring Harness Re-wire

Need a little help completing the re-wire of my 1970 Cuda.

I've got the wiring down to the steering column connections.  I think I have the Direction Signal Connector figured out, but I need a little help on the Ignition Switch connector.  The EZ Wiring Harness diagram has 5 wires to the ignition switch, and the factory connector has a few more.  All the EZ harness wires are heavy gauge wires. There is only one heavy gauge wire on the column connector.  I need a little help figuring out where the new wires get connected.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've attached a screen shot of the steering column connectors from factory wiring diagram as well as a screen shot of the EZ harness diagram.

Hook it up this way.   You will not use the brown wire with your new switch.  The ignition circuit will be going through the ballast resistor at all times.

One thing I did not mention, I'm removing the factory ignition and installing an MSD 6AL at this time too.  Does this change anything?

the MSD small red trigger wire  has to be connected to both the start & run circuit , MSD supplies a pigtail with the ign to connect to both ballast connectors on the factory harness

Not really, just hook the wire that wire that Chryco is talking about right to the ignition circuit. If you are using the switch in your diagram, it should be hot in both start and run position. Verify that with a test light.

The yellow wire is hot at start and dead at run.  The blue wire is dead at start and hot at run.  If I connect these two to feed the MSD, Starter is powered at the run position...which is not good.

Has anyone used a diode in this situation?  If so, what number diode???

I'll search for another source that is hot in start and run...

I used a 5 amp diode when I wired my race car with an ARC switch box. Use a diode from the yellow wire, with the arrow pointing towards the blue wire. ANY number diode will work.  If you use it to switch a relay it can be smaller that 5 amp.

My emergency flasher contact is up in the turn signal unit so where is these connection leads to?
Is it some relay that are shown in the diagrams
The turn signal flasher I find but not the emergensy flasher

The new wiring harness had the emergency flasher and the direction signal flasher installed in the new fuse block.  I did not have the do any wiring to the emergency flasher other than to connect the one wire from the steering column connector to the new wiring harness.

If I remember right, the factory harness had a flasher that came out with the ash tray.  I think this was the emergency flasher.  I think the factory direction signal flasher was on the fuse block.

But you mean that there could be another version and that the pink wire is of no use in my harness then?

I did not replace any wiring in the steering column itself.  The flasher I was referring to was the one at the fuse block or ash tray.  Looks like you have a photo of the switch itself.

I used the factory connectors at the base of the steering column.  I cut the wires about 3-4 inches from the connector on the wiring harness side (left the steering column wires alone)  I then spliced in the correct wires from the new harness to the correct wire at the connector.

I'm not sure what you are referring to with needing the "pink" wire.  Could you provide a little more information about what you are doing with the harness?

But is it 2 different flashers?
One for the turns signal and one for the emergency flasher
Two different relays?

Because in those wiring diagrams I look at it seems to be to different "feeding wires" til to contact up in the steering coloumn
Each one of the has some sort of 2-pole relay
One is called turn signal flasher
One is called emergency flasher

Yes, There is one flasher/relay for the direction signals, and another for the emergency flashers.
