Classic "Rim Blow Look" Steering Wheel
« on: May 18, 2010 - 06:59:32 PM »
I have for Sale a Classic "Rim Blow Look" Steering wheel for an E-Body. It is not a Rim Blow. I purchased this from Jim's Auto Parts For $229.00. There is a slight crack in the wood that is not very noticeable. The Wheel is not falling apart or anything like that. It just has a crack in it. Actually, when you squeeze it together you can't see the crack. If you are good with wood and can get some sort of transparent glue you would not even notice the crack. It is a nice looking wheel. I decided to put a Tuff Wheel on my car. I'm very disappointed in Jim's Auto Parts though. When the Part came I did not open it right away. I was very busy with school. I opened it a month later and noticed the crack. Jim's Auto Parts refused to take it back. I won't be dealing with them ever again. Anyway I'm asking $100.00 Plus shipping. It is brand new and never installed.

I have one on my 70 Challenger.....Take out he rivts and apply glue to the cracked area, reapply the rivts and clamp together. I used a $5.oo can of wood filler and filled the rivet holes, sanded and restained-real easy. You could even just put glue into the crack and clamp, just use a wet cloth to wipe off excess glue.
