Make sure you connect a trinary switch. I don't think they include them in the kit.

it shows a '' binary or trinary switch'' in the electrical schematics so i assume it comes with one. so what is this switch anyway?

It's a safety switch for the electrical system.

It is a safety switch that will shut down the compressor if the head pressure gets too high and thus would save your compressor if you were low on freon. I installed thier Gen IV kit and it did not come with a trinary switch.

well that didn't take me long to give up. i started the install and when it came time to remove the defrost vents it looks like the entire dash has to come out. ive done that before and have to do it again this fall when i paint the car, i don't need the practice. looks like another summer of the car being parked on hot days. :stomp:

Did your car come from the factory with AC, or is the add-on kit?

I have factory AC and want to eventually upgrade to the Sanden compressor.

i did one in a cuda we built last year and with the dash out. The top screws into the cowl so it would be allot easier to atleast drop the column and roll the dash back,

I had chryco phone Vintage for me and ask some questions and one of the things he said you could not do is put their compressor on you factory system because it does not pump at  a high enough rate to do the job. Also if you want to keep your car looking original it can`t be done. Some lines have to be blocked at the fire wall and also some plates have to be put in the fire wall. The heater box is a bigger size and the glove-box has to be replaced with a smaller one. I believe their lines are also different too,so the originallity is definately gone when you are done. I wanted  to go with them because their compressor uses less horse-power and the controls are all new generation but with what has to be done and not looking stock, I have changed my mind and will re-do my factory A/C and put it back in. Hope my  :2cents: will help  :ylsuper:

That's good info, you might want to look at Classic Air in Tampa.  They claim to have a kit that will work with the factory underdash parts.

I'm still sitting on the sidelines, waiting for someone else to blaze the trail first.

Would anyone know if the vintage air kit will work with a MARCH pully system on a 340?

I'm still waiting for someone to put up a diagram of the vac connections & controls under the dash. My Challenger was factory A/C but everything is disconnected inside the car, under the hood its all missing, I can work that out.
Any & all help appreciated, thanks.
