73 Cuda--BS23H 340, 4sp with fender tag and build sheet. Redone in original color and options--very clean driver. Please look and give me some opinions--I am thinking of buying this one. I offered a few thousand less than the price posted...

4-speeds are, of course, worth more than autos (20% in my book), but that still seems like a lot of cake for a 73.

Good points are the matching #'s, b/c sheet and low miles.

Times are still kinda tough out there, so I'd be offering MANY thousands less than the $37K.   :2cents:

The asking price is twice what it is worth.

So what do think I should pay???  NADA.com puts it at $32,875 average retail.

Yes, times are tough now, but pricing is so subjective.  It is up to you what you are willing to pay.  If you watch that show "What your car is worth" (something close to that) experts give a value to a car and then it sells for a lot less or a lot more, and of course they are right on.  Point is, the car is worth whatever the buyer wants to pay for it.  Pricing you see on NADA is a guideline.  Look up comparables and come up with want you think is right.  Their asking price is just that, asking price.

I didn't pay half of that for mine. 25K TOPS IMO. I know he probably won't sell at that. It looks clean. Nice car. But that is a bunch O' coin dude. I've seen real AAR's go for 45,000. You could get into a 70/71 for that. Is it a #'s engine/trans.?   Let us know what happens dude!  :smokin:   WoW!

#'s matching eng and trans. I've looked around a lot and all the 4speed cars are going for much more. everything in this range turns out to be an auto and I am really set on a 4sp. Thinking about 30 or so for this.....not sure yet.

Beautiful, full restoration '70 Cuda, 440 six pack, 4 speed, dana rear, rallye gauges, even nut and bolt redo just sold on Ebay for $36K.  Granted it wasn't numbers matching or original engine (383) but it was done nice.
1970 Plymouth 'Cuda.  Matching numbers 440 U Code, 4 speed pistol grip, Rallye dash, AM 8 Track, Shaker hood, 15 inch rallye wheels, Dana 60 4.10, Super Track Pak.  One of 134 - 440 "U" coupes codes built in 1970 and one of 100 - 440 Super Track Paks built in 1970.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

...I purchased one IDENTICAL (minus the stripe) new in 1973....without a doubt the worst car I ever owned...but to the point, yes it is priced too high, considerably too high....the problem is there WILL be a day you tire of it and want another car, THEN is when the price will bite you...there were quite a few very desirable Ebodies sold at Mecum this week for the same money or less...look around before you spend big $$$ for a low dollar car

$21,500
Check Moparts and you'll find 70-71 Cudas and Chally for that (25 k range) Problem is, what it cost to do the car or what it was worth two years ago is a far cry from it's worth now.

This guy wants the same money for this one. 71 Chally R/T 304, 4spd--not #'s match eng (but build date is 5/70), but numbers match trans..clean car except there is WAAAAY too much undercoating on the bottom. Not sure what to make of that. I sent an inspector and he says the car is solid and done right, but the undercoating thing is stuck in my head. The owner--who only has it a few years--says it's because it was built for Canada and the opinion on that from this forum is that he is full of it. Here is one pic of that one.

Heavy undercoating is common, I have seen it over 1/2" thick in some places on some cars. Got any photos of the underside?
