The owner was a SIAC member, I have a copy of his membership form on file from back then.
Tom Quadrini saved them when they were being tossed out, he got them to me via Jeff Bangert years ago.

Barry, I was a member of SIAC and the Mopar Muscle Club, in the 80s. I had my car in 1980.
Did you already know about my car when I registered with you? I think that I also listed my car on the membership form. I sometimes look at my old SIAC classifieds and find T/As listed for $2500.

Hey Rob,
I would have mentioned it then if I knew anything about it. SIAC got pretty big, with all the regional chapters I am quite sure that I did not get every record they ever had. It would be awesome if more showed up someday.

I found an even nicer one!!!!  I am in touch with the current owner and am going to see it. This link is to an ad 2 years ago from a previous owner, but it tells the story of the car.

Sit down and take a deep breath. I really want to help you. The classic car market is DEAD as of the moment. It is NOT a seller's market. It is a BUYER'S market and that is YOU.  :cooldancing: Take advantage of it. You have only checked out a few cars. THERE ARE HUNDREDS MORE. So take your time and find the right car. Maybe this latest one is it but I'd look at every E body I could find within reason.

And just so you know - the undercoat on the purple 71 Chally is nothing more than a cover up of past work. The car had and still has rust issues. I took a look at the pictures you posted and it's quite obvious.

BE CAREFUL and good luck.

I decided against the purple Chally.

The link I just put up if from a 2 years ago when that car was for sale before. It is much cheaper now...I would not dream of paying in the 40's for that car in this market. I understand where the market is right now--I have been looking quite a while.

Good. The market is in your corner right now. Take advantage of it.

I saw this today on http://bringatrailer.com and it's even in my state. It's a low miles 318 Challenger in original condition. I'm not really near enough to go look though.

http://bringatrailer.com/2010/06/01/church-on-time-grandmas-4-speed-1972-challenger/

I understand that a 318 isn't the most desirable (like mine) but the original ones are getting harder to come by. I haven't really been watching the market so I don't know if this is a good price.

Good luck

I know pics can't always be trusted but it looks like a very clean and solid car. It would be a great start for a restomod.

It's a 3-speed, not 4.

Nice survivor, but not $16.5K nice.
My name is Steve and I'm addicted to Challengers...

I agree....I am more of a 70 or 71 Challenger person anyway.

Thanks for looking

I always stay with the 70 - 71's when it comes to E bodies. They pull more money than the rest of the group.

The only thing that I don't like about 72 and later Challys is the nose. But that's just my opinion...that's why they make different models!
