Best bang for the buck headers?

Looking for some long tube headers, and was just wondering which were the best for the price out there?
Cuda is gone :(

Hedmans from Summit are probably the best for the money.

Although I've personally had starter clearance issues with Hedman's  on my 383 Roadrunner they possibly are the best 'bang for the buck' if by that you mean 'the least $$ I can get away with spending'.  For me, best bang for the buck applies across the price ranges and is more 'get the most from every dollar I spend'.  If that's your meaning as well I'd definitely get coated headers no matter what brand you buy.  My experience with even expensive uncoated headers is that they rust quickly and generally need replacing in 4-5 years.  Headers are one of those things that tend to make you wish you hadn't skimped on the purchase whether because of rust, fit & sealing problems, etc.  If I decide to go with headers on my barracuda based on many of the recommendations here I'm definitely going with either Doug's or TTI headers.  Both are $600 or more so definitely aren't cheap but should fit, seal & last longer than almost any other company's headers for my car so for me they are the 'best bang for the buck'.

Cheaper headers will burn wires & cause numerous other issues
 the Cheapest Header I would buy is the Dougs header , the other option is the TTI which is absoluty the best quality header

Well the dougs and the TTI's are close enough in price that it is worth it to go with the TTI's to me. How well do they fit in the engine bay? Obviously I have concerns about the steering shaft and the starter, but I haven't found any pics that really showed how they go around this.

Could you maybe put up some pics of your engine bay so I can see how the headers are in there? Just curious to see how they deal with clearnance issues.

Hooker Super Comps also fit without too many headaches, I even got mine in without unbolting any engine mounts, and I didn't dent any pipes to make them fit. The part # for the HSC's is 5115. The 5115's go above the steering linkage just like the Doug's and the TTT's. They also fit with the standard boat anchor starter (which I have). The price is pretty comparable too, $689.95 at Summit for the ceramic coated version. They're also a 1 3/4" header all the way through, so if you're planning a BIG hp engine you might get some more flow out of them vs the stepped TTI's.

I also mention them because they've been around forever (Doug's too) and I've seen several sets at various swap meets. I bought my set of ceramic coated super comps for my Challenger for $200 in great condition, just a few scratches in the ceramic, no dents. I also bought a set of super comps for my Dart for a whopping $150. Be sure to get the Super Comps though, not just the Comps, since the cheaper Hooker Competition headers go below the steering link just like the other "cheap" headers.

you will not get 5115 headers on a 512 / 440
 the Big Block hookers just suck hiiting the steering box et just like the pix of the hedmans

Whoops. Sorry guys, missed the engine displacement in the signature there.  :screwy: Sorry for the confusion, the 5115's are small block headers.  ;)

What motor are you trying to put these on? If it is on a small block I have some brand new headman headers. I believe they should still be at home, I was was given two sets. I have the first set on my 340 chally and I love the sound and I have no burning issues.
