Tire size recommendations for 15*7" rims..
« on: October 15, 2004 - 01:38:31 PM »
OK GURU's.. my bro's vert is coming out the bod shop real soon.. so he decided to put on the steel rims w/ the plymouth division caps. This is my favorite look if you "had" to go stock. Anyways, he has a set of four(4) 15*7 rims.

Questions.. what is the widest tire that will fit on the back w/ 7" rims? Let's here some recommendations for all 4's. 70's, 60's.. 50's(i don't think they'll fit).

Thanks in advance.  71fish

I've got 15X7's on the rear of my car. In a 60 series, the 255's were the highest profile recommended. If you went with a low profile, the 50 series might fit, but I'll let someone else verify that.

Mike is correct. A 255 60 15 will mount on a 7" rim and fit on a stock Cuda rear end. It is a VERY tight fit, but it does work with no problems. Personally, I would prefer to mount 255's on an 8" rim. However the 7" will work....just a little more"bulge" to the tire.

I run 15x7 steel wheels w/ caps on my challenger.
275/60/15 on the back, 235/60/15 on the front.
No problems whatsoever
