Grill trim

How do you remove the old grill trim and how do the new ones go on? thanks!

Do they they just pull off, are they beveled or clips etc.

Which grille - what year. You realize WE have serious issues being up this late. I'm shot. Another long day in restoration HELL.

I'm sure someone will have an answer for you in the morning.

If your talking the 72-74 Challenger grill trim, it just pulls out.  There are clips holding it to the header panel.  Be carefull though.  Those clips are NOT available new.

Darn I am sorry guys it is on a 70 Cuda the 2 ends that wrap the head lights and the upper and lower center.

there are some tabs molded on the edge of the grill , which the trim is pushed onto.  I used a thin wide screwdriver and carefully pryed it loose.  clicks right back on

Yea, be very careful.  This is why so many 70 cudas at the shows have the grille trim not holding very well.

I have heard that you can take a hot iron and re-mushroom the tabs if one gets loose on you though.  That is if it doesn't completely brake off.  It can be done without breaking it though as dutch mentioned.  I restored my grille and this is how it turned out.







I restored my trim as well and it is now installed even though it's not on in the pictures.
