Well said!!

I don't want it to get to the point where we have to use terms like" When checking your timing you must make sure to advance or Developmentally disable your timing."  :roflsmiley:

Again great guys but this isn't a ladies tea party it is a group of guys trying to joke, have fun, and help each other.  :working:
Ok I will now step down from my soap box.  :blah:

 :crying:

Look cry baby, I was referring to a specific post that went hay wire once. I am just looking out for a few people that could take offense. Let me know when you need help finding the dipstick on your 318.

Well, if you dont mind my saying, that was uncalled for wally, unless you were tongue-in-cheek in that post.

That other thread aside, he said "retard" in a way different context than an offensive one IMHO.  Note I complimented you on trying to look out for folks, but in reality, if someone reads his original post in its full context and is somehow offended, then THEY are the "crybaby".  I am not worried about "those" people.  They will be offended no matter WHAT word is used.....retard, idiot, moron, dumb****, @ssbag, dipsh!t, etc.

Like I said, I feel political correctness is a bunch of BS. It makes people feel guilty for having an opinion and restricts what we can say or do for the sake of someone else's sensitivities, whether they are overinflated or not.  W all in general need to grow a thicker skin and stop being "crybabies" when someone says something we dont like.

The old addage "sticks and stones" works here IMHO.

If he had said "the mechanic who did this must have been a mentally handicapped person"  or "that mechanic must have had down;s syndrome", I can see THAT being offensive to someone because then it is talking about a specific group of challenged folks and attacks that handicap "personally".

But "retard", in the context he used it, describes a person who is stupid, idiotic, doing something that defies logic, etc.

Truth be told, in my opinion and respectfully, there was no drama (referring to your emoticon) til you tried to correct him for using the word "retard".

Threads like this dont go "haywire" until someone calls attention to the "offense" and the back-and-forth pissing match starts.....  :poopoke: ... We are all friends here....no reason to get personal with the namecalling or jumping on people for using words that you may have an issue with unless it is a really bad offiense.....which, IMHO, his wasnt.

Let me point out the name calling for you.  :horse:

He said "we" , and I took that as a BIG "we" as in "when did we as a group"...he didnt say "when did Wally become a pussy".  Had he said that, it would have been a clear offense to you. But, I agree with him....when did we as a society become so damned thin skinned!?!?

And anyways, he didnt say what you quoted last til AFTER you jumped on him for using the word, putting him on the defensive and veiling it by saying "others" might take offense If the word "retard" offends you personally, then just say so. Otherwise, IMHO, let others be offended and say so. Until then, no one was offended.

Plus, he came back in that same post you snipped it from (taking it out of context again) and basically apologized and then you follow-up by calling him a crybaby? Then you made it more personal with the dipstick comment?

Not cool IMHO.   :dunno:

Ok, I can see this going no where.  ::)    :violin:  Consider me officially bowing out of this since I can see where it is going.

That has to be the best retort I've ever seen.   :roflsmiley:  And I agree, lets drop the political correctness.  It's all about the cars, not my education!

Maybe change "retard" to "Slowman" or something less offensive. I only say this b/c there has been poor use of this word in the past.  :sadwavey:

shadango thanks for sticking up for me and my 318. I was really getting worried everyone would think I was a "Slowman" for using the word I should not say.  :nono:
As for you Wally. I got nothing but love for you bro (but before you take that out of context please know I meant brotherly love and not Boy Kissy Boy love    :naughty: :bananasmi  :naughty: )
Again I was not trying to cause an issue I was only trying to make my rant and question seem more funny and interesting to read. I guess I should go and try and find my "dipstick" as it has been pointed out that I will get no help in finding it.

haven't been able to check it out yet. But I think I may be screwed. I see that the fuse that handles the A/c system is burned out. Not like opps, I need to check the fuse but like there is a scorch mark where it use to be. So this includes some other issues I will need to address before I can continue. For now I am just going to clean the ground connections and deal with it. But it was good to know how it is suppose to work.
