Champion RJ12YC Spark Plugs for 440
« on: May 31, 2010 - 08:11:57 PM »
After doing a search for the best suggested spark plug for a 440 I derived at the answer of Champion RJ12YC.   So I  just bought them to discover that the tip/threaded portion of the RJ12YC's  are much longer than the Bosch plug that I removed.  Do you have to have a certain setup to run the RJ12YC's?  Since the plug that I removed is shorter than the  RJ12YC I'm concerned that the  RJ12YC  is too long.  Can someone clarify this...any info. would be appreciated.

Stock heads or aluminum?            Stock pistons or domes?
If I cant fix it, it's broke

If the plug is too long it'll just carbon up the threads sticking into the combustion chamber and make it difficult to remove.

OK thanks...not sure how much room there is between the piston and the plug when the piston is at TDC so when I saw how much longer the RJ12YC was compared to the plug I removed it worried me.
