I didn't get a picture but the back of my glove box was signed by "Ralph".  I mentioned in another post that some worker had fashioned a numeral "3" from uncured rubber on the underside of my dash pad.  PK

Glove box must be gone.

Too bad you didn't get a picture of that.

Not gone--I re-installed it today.  I knew I should take a picture of it but at the time I didn't know about this thread.  Maybe I can get a picture from the back side.  If not I can take it out since there are only humpteen screws holding it in. PK

OK, got a picture of the back side of my glove box with a signature on it.  I mistakenly said earlier that it was Ralph but instead it was ROY.  On the other section was the numerals 711.  Maybe Roy was a card player and was hoping for a good hand at poker.  The 711 appears upside down in the photo since the two halves probably were signed before being attached together.  I'm also attaching the picture of the numeral "3", an X in yellow and a letter S in white on the underside of the dash pad. The tag is apparently the vendor's tag which says Davidson Rubber Co.  PK

Don't know if you can use this one. It's the inside of the deck lid on my 72 Charger.

I'll check the rest of the car before I prime everything in case there's more.

Real cool pics guys!  Neat to see something personalized from the past!  :grinyes:

If you guys have pics you might also want to email them to Barry so he can put them on the 1970 Hamtramck Registry site for him to document and for others to see.  :2cents:

The decklid scribble is not a "doodle". It signifies the spare tire size and wheel color.

Every car should have this (I think).

I've seen marks like that on quite a few B-bodies.  I think that was the standard procedure.  Have you seen those marking on an E-body Steve?  The only thing on the underside of my 73's trunk lid is a redish orange inspectors stamp.

geez,
looks to me like the show judges wouldnt be able to question your car if you just allowed a grafitti tag artist to have his way on your car!
"Thats the way it came from the factory!"  :roflsmiley:
I can remember my dad telling stories of coke bottles hanging by wire inside doors to cause rattles, and tools left everywhichwhere inside his cars (from the factory of course). There was a lot of dissension back then between union and management, and it gave foreign competitors a foot in the door, which they have since shoved wide open.
Not trying to change the subject, because tools and coke bottles are NOT doodles or names, but....they would add to the originality, especially if its the original coke bottle, or at least period correct!

I sure have, but I don't think I was smart enough to take any pics before I got my car painted. I don't think I currently have any original paint decklids ahanging around either. I'll check my new pics of the 74 cuda I looked at yesterday and post accordingly.

My 74 Barracuda glove box has a happy face drawn on the back in white pencil, John.
