On Sunday June 6th 2010 Mopar Alley held its 20th Annual Mopar Rally at Ohlone College in Fremont California. For this event we were blessed to have the private Mopar collection of Wade and Aster Ogle on display. This collection consists of 10 cars, most of them hemi cudas. It should be noted that the only clone in the collection is a 71 curious yellow hemi cuda convertible that sports a 528 Mopar Performance crate hemi and a Keisler 5 speed. The rest of the collection includes a 47,000 original mile survivor unrestored Moulin Rouge 1970 hemi cuda, a fully loaded extremely rare 1970 Moulin Rouge Dodge Charger R/T SE, a 1 of 9 1970 sublime green hemi Challenger convertible, a 1970 plum crazy purplehemi cuda convertible, a 1 of 11 1971 rally red hemi cuda convertible, which was the last of the 11 1971 hemi cuda convertibles to be found and the previous owner of that convertible who had it hidden for all those years made the trip from Arizona to attend our show and see the car, which was a particularly nice surprise at the show, a 30,000 miles original unrestored hemi orange 1971 hemi cuda, a 1971 plum crazy purple hemi cuda, a 1971 sassy grass green hemi cuda, and a curious yellow 1971 440 6 pack cuda. All of the cars are 4 speeds except for the red 1971 hemi cuda convertible.
Saturday June 5th (the day before the show) a group of us drove 7 of the cars to the show! The 3 cars that were not driven to the show were the 16,000 mile Moulin rouge 70 hemi cuda, the plum crazy purple 70 hemi cuda convertible, and the sassy grass green 71 hemi cuda. The convertible was not driven to the event because it just completed a very extensive restoration at Roger Gibson’s shop and was delivered to Wade and Aster at the show ! I am working on collecting video footage of the journey to the show to share. What a blast it was driving those cars to the show, I had the privilege of driving the panther pink 70 charger! Also that evening after the tent was erected I had the privilege to help drive in the cars and get them staged. I was able to get some pictures of my 72 Challenger with these amazing cars as you can see below.
Sunday after the show some of the cars were driven home and some were put in the car hauler that delivered the purple convertible. I was able to take my 72 Challenger and shoot a quick video of the ride home.
On a final note I just want to thank the Ogle’s for all of the hard work they put in to get these cars to the show. This was a very rare opportunity and this event was one for the history books.
Enjoy the photos and the videos.
