I put a alluminmum radiator (cheap one from Jeggs) in at the same time added a/c system from classic auto. Have a new aluminmum waterpump housing, 165 degree thremostate, and water pump from 440 source. Live in florida. Also have a plastic flex fan no shroud. It's overheating below 35 mph with ac on. Hitting up to 200 if you run it hard, but drops back down if you get the rpm's back down around 2500. Without the ac with older radiator and same fan never got above 190 even idling in traffic on a hot day. I am thinking of putting a double 11" electric fan. A shroud looks like they cost little over a $100. Electric fan system from Jeggs or Summit 250-280. I am afraid if I spend the money on a shroud and it doesn't work, then I just have to spend more. Has anyone got much experince with the Jeggs or Summit systems verses Coolit or Fan lite. I don't really want to try and piece together a GM fan from a HHR. Just not sure what to do to get the temp down and run the ac.
