Oil Filter Plate & Plug
« on: June 08, 2010 - 04:10:56 PM »
Hi guys I am going to do away with my 90 degree oil filter adapter on my 340 and need to find an oil filter plate / shield and the bolt or what ever you call what the oil filter screwes to.  I don't know where to get one.  I didn't see one at Summit or Jegs.  Do I need the shield?

Also, I have the pipe plug screwed into where the oil filter goes and I saw in a post that it is suppose to be there but I was wondering why?  What is it's purpose or should I remove it?  Does it really matter?

As always thanks again.
Dave

I would go to any junk-yards "motor pile" for that plate and filter mounting fitting.

Both those parts are still available from dodge,  I forget the part numbers but I ordered them last year from my local dealership.
