What years are the real CUDA'S
« on: June 11, 2010 - 11:48:30 PM »
 Too many people call their Barracuda's....Cuda's.  In my opinion, it HAS to have a VIN of starting with BS. AND have 'CUDA on the rear tail pan.  Any thoughts  :clueless:
Originally I thought they were just 70 and 71's Only. :2cents:

unlike the Chall a "Cuda" was available every year
the Chall R/T was only available 70-71 with the Ralley pkg from 72-74

The Cuda name first appeared on the 1969 models as well.

The name "Cuda" actually started in I think 67 " not an A body guy" and they were A Body cars till 69.
If you got the Cuda option you got a 340 from 68-69 as the base engine with a smattering of 383 and 440 limited production offerings.
Not sure about 67, though I know for sure that in 67 on the Dart GTS you could get a 383.
1970 they turned into E Bodies and Cryco explained the rest.

In `69 wasn`t it just was an option on the Barracuda with a BH vin and not a separate model?

BH VIN prefixs for all 1969 Barracuda & Cuda.

Lots of info on them here;

I would agree except the Rallye "package" was only in 73-74.  In 72 it was it's own separate model.  72 Rallye=JS     73-74 Rallye package=JH
