May be selling the `69
« on: October 18, 2004 - 07:22:12 PM »
My neighbor down the street has a sweet`69 440 Satellite and came by last week to check out a 4 spd trans I have as he wants to convert from bench auto to buckets and 4 gear. While he was here he checked out my `69 Barracuda project and mentioned he`d like get an old muscle car to road race in to replace his current Mazda Miata SCCA stock class car.A couple days later he called with some questions about the trans and then told me he`d be interested in buying the `69 the way it sits and to come up with a price.I had planned on selling it once it was finished to fund my `70 road runner project but now I have to decide if I should sell it now and how much it`s worth. For those who may not know(or can`t remember) I`ll go through what I`ve done to the car so far.

Originally /6 auto with rotted floors, spare tire well, quarters etc. plan was to biuld a street/strip car.I fabricated and welded up the floors and quarters, six pack hood scoop, body work all done and in primerbut still needs to be bolcked sanded, trunk and underhood painted, interior painted.Frame connectors welded in,replaced tire well with sheet metal box and installed fuel cell and trunk mounted battery box,has electric fuel pump and lines run.Shortened 8 3/4 rear big bolt pattern,`74 front disc brake setup, new rotors etc.,v8 k-frame all bolted on.Interior has racing buckets, back seat removed with aluminum panels in place, dash installed but needs new pad.I figure I have between $3,000 to $3,500 in it plus lots of time in bodywork and assembly.I figured the car done, running and driving nice and all painted would get $6,000-$7,000 so I figure I got to get $4500 for it as is to be worth it,what do you guys think?

Torred, that sounds like a very reasonable price for the '69.  I don't really know what the going rate is for the A-body Barracudas, but from the pics you've posted, I'd say that car should be worth around $4,000-$5,000.00 just depending on the work that's been done to it.  I figured they'd probably sell for around $7,500-$8,500.00 when restored, so your figure sounds reasonable.

Id buy it for 4,500 if you had the interior. All the hard work is done. Good rear, discbrakes, body work almost done.
