Rocker moldings
« on: June 12, 2010 - 10:31:09 AM »
Well I finally got up my nerv last night.   :banghead:    Broke out the tape and drill and put the rocker molding on. It went better then I thought. Now I'm glad I went with them. I should of done it a long time ago.

I'll do it tomorrow. Right now it's raining like an old cow peeing on a flat rock!

My convertible came with the rocker moldings, I think the code is
"M31" unless it was part of the "A63" package that included most of the SE trim pieces.?

Very interesting, I have holes in my rocker panels.  It looks like there was some kind of trim in the past.

I always thought it was something a previous owner had added.  No way to really tell, my car is a random assembly of parts.

Did it only come in chrome?

Its not really chrome, its polished or anodized aluminum I think. But that is the only way it was available.
Someone was selling repros, Metro IIRC.

Hey Katfish, at least in 71 the originals used studs instead of holes. Problem is these days the only clips you can get are 72 up with holes.

From this brochure it looks like the rocker molding was part of the A63 SE trim piece package.

So now I'm trying to figure out what M31 on my tag was for?

M31 is your body belt moldings that run from C-pillar to C-pillar, rear quarter tops, door tops, fenders & hood.

Sill moldings were available on 1970 Challengers as its own option.  See M25 here;

Always love looking at the original prices.

You could get disc brakes for $27 or this sill molding for $22.

Well they have gone up a bit from the 21.75 in 1970. I paid 255 plus 45 for the clips from METRO in Farmington last weekend.  :roflsmiley:
