I don't care for it either. 
Yes photo bucket and flikr can fix that.
Unforunately, this is the only site that I use that needs this.
I just don't load any pictures anymore.
Which means less time here.
Sucks but that is what it is.

I am guessing that the only way to fix this is with more money for whomever runs this site.  More money=more storage

No logging in. No BS pop ups.
No picture file amount limits.
No delay when users click on picture for it to get big.

I find it strange that the #1 recurring complaint here can not be dealt with permanently? I have never seen another site with constant upload problems like this one. 

Another get by 'for now' solution;

You can start a thread on another forum with your photos & then post a second thread here with a link to the thread on the other site.

Just started with photo bucket, seems ok so far, I think I used image shack a while back, but the links died out after a few months (if I have the right place I was using) .
Got a grate bunch a folks here if photo fobia is the worst problem I'll live with it, these folks run a great site, I'll give credit where it's due, think of the gazillions of photo's going up every day, a lot to ask for at a free hangout!  Rich.

A picture speaks a 1,000 words but many of the threads here can only be answered with words. I can assure you there are far worse sites for posting pic's. One I use only allow 19kb for the avatar.   
This site fills a great area of information for all who want it.
