This is the car right before I put the subframe connectors in...
Use a piece of thin aluminum (i used a sign substraight called diebond) it's easy to work with and so much better than cardboard.....
Cut the template (You 'll need to do each side of each connector....
Make sure it fits....
Copy it to the sheet metal...
Double check it once it's cut out....
Repeat for both sides and the cap than tack weld in place....
Right before welding it down....
You can see why the brake cable and Subframe connectors don't like each other. They both want to occupy the same space. Look at the line drawn in to see the problem
By custom making and welding a half cut pipe through the subframe connectors the brake cable and be installed just has the factory had it.
Rounding off the corners makes sure the cable will not rub on anything and break over time. It worked like a champ!
MoparDvae had told me to watch out for this problem and if he didn't I might have over looked it! I owe him for that. He had to solve the same issue on his Cuda, but after it was painted. He came up with a pretty neat way to do it after the car was painted that looked good too.
I'll take more photos later once I get the car back on its side to paint the bottom.
