SHaker fitment: Shared experience
« on: June 18, 2010 - 06:21:27 AM »
I have seen allot of posts  WHat carb will fit a stock type shaker, manifold etc

Ill tell you what fit mine:   Realize there are many variables:  Moldings of the various shaer repops, types of intake manifold, type of hood (steel or fiberglass), type/condition of motor mounts, you name it, etc.

I'm running a stock 440 , AVS E brock carb, orignal 440 intake maniold  (4 barrell) of a 1970 440, one inch Summit carb spacer.  Engine mounts are stock type, fiberglass hood, shaker repop kit form pentastar repos

Bottom line:  THe fitment is PERFECT:  I had expected it to be too loose or tight against the hood opening: The shaker seal fits snug against the hood when closed.  Not too tight, not loose

AVS style is the only carb that works well with out modifying the base plate for the holley or proform.
