My 2 cents I would paint it the new purple as on the 2010 for a matching set for some one  the new pink would be cool but not for resale. IMO

Yeah, I was also thinking about a modern color as well.  I am painting a '67 Satellite for a guy right now that is going the new B5 blue - dang is it a sharp looking color!

I voted for burnt orange as well.  Years ago, I had a burnt orange R/T SE with a black vinyl top and it will always be one of my favorite color combos.

Another color that would be sweet would be that viper blue, with a white tail stripe or side stripe, I know that blue is expensive.  We seen a 72-74 cuda at Carlisle last year painted that color in the car coral and it sold for a pretty high price if I remember correctly?

Good luck with what ever you decide.

Sorry to hear about the underemployment. Been there, and it sucks.

When you say that the Burnt Orange is undocumented, do you have any pics of the car in Burnt Orange? Just wondering if there's anything you could use to try to justify that and make it more valuable.

If not, I'm not a big Burnt Orange fan, but I'm not big on the high impact colors anyway. Prefer something more subdued.

With no documentation I'd go with one of the modern pearl Impact colors Mopar has for the Chargers and Challengers.

But which one is the big question?  What color would sell it the quickest & for the best price?

My first reaction was to say "which one is selling best on the new cars?", but then I thought about it, and that only answers what new Challenger buyers are looking for, and I'm not sure that that's what old Challenger buyers are looking for.

Does anyone have a pic handy of that Viper Blue cuda from Carlisle last year?  I know Jeff was looking at buying it pretty hard.  I was told it sold for 30k and it was a 72-74 car.  Not sure on the engine size or trans.

Why not sell it & paint it for the customer
typically I have always picked the wrong color for the buyer , my Duster was stripped down to paint it & I couldn`t get the car painted purple as I wanted ,so I sold it in primer & told the buyer it would be painted the color he wanted , as usual I had just removed the Red paint & the buyer wanted it painted ...Yup you guessed it ...Red

The only problem with that is I really prefer to paint the car before I do all of the mechanical and interior work.  And it will be really hard to sell it in it's current state.  I'd much rather paint the engine compartment before I set the engine in as well.  Cars that don't run & drive don't sell for much and I'll need the most amount of $$ in order to live on until I can get re-established back in Florida.  Other than that, it would be a great idea...

I think some people are burnt out(lol) on the high impact colors and being numbers matching I`d go Burnt Orange.

No fender Tag or Broadcast sheet means there's no added value in going with the original colour, as there's no way to prove it. The dash tag will prove it's an R/T (does it have the inner door sticker as well?), and if the engine matches the VIN, then that's a bonus, but no definitive documentation means the true numbers buyers will take their money elsewhere. You won't get numbers matching money for it.

Paint it White. No blackouts, no stripes, and no spoilers :)

Do not underestimate the emotional influence Vanishing Point can have over a potential buyer. A White '70 R/T will bring more interest than any other combo.

Edit: Painting the car to the buyers preference after the sale is a dangerous game. Once it's all done an dusted, they can turn around and so it's not good enough/not what they wanted etc. You're just asking for trouble, and I wouldn't recommend it.
