4C, basically the Delta Flows are a little more restrictive and are built from stainless steel(right?), so they cost like $25 more than the regular 40 Series mufflers.  I'd personally choose the orginal 40 Series, but I'm biased cause I plan on running them myself.......My dillema is what size pipe to go with: 2 1/2" or the smaller 2 1/4" to get a nasty little note from them. ::) :P

Aren't the Flowmasters tinny sounding??? I've heard that so much it's not funny.

So if thats the case I'd go for a the deeper tone, I know sound is nothing when it comes to performance but you also don't want to sound like a rotary.  ;D I've heard the new series are not so tinny, so I guess there getting better.  :D

;D I haven't heard a Mopar yet with any muffler that didin't have a certain amount of deep tone to it, it's in their nature but with the aggressive set it should just sound deep and loud I would suspect. The piping going back will determine some of it, how large and what tailpipes you use. Good Luck 4C, I am sure either way it will sound awesome!  ;D

I have Torque Tech 3" headers back kit with delta flow 40 series and sounds awesome. Honestly you could hear me comming or going for atleast a 1/2 mile. I was nervous about getting the kit because Mopar bigblocks have a unforgettable sould and I didn't want to loose it. But now the sound is still unmistakably a mopar just 100% louder. Having said that I have on the way flowmaster super 40's those should set off all the car alarms in a square block.

I have the Delta Flow 40s and they are sweet.  You do get a lot of inside noise but i have heard it is even louder inside with the original 40s.  If you wanna hear them, let me know.  I can give you a call and let you hear thm over the phone!

I have 40 series with 3 inch exhaust front to back on the 71 hemicuda...too daM% loud in my opinion, I have a CD player in dash but it's useless...LOL. Not that the hemi is a bad thing to listen to.  ;D

Taking a ride down the interstate with a passenger, you end up yelling to each other to talk. I won't change them unless i need to, but if i do, I'll go to delta flows. I also happen to like the "stock" sound of these cars....sounds nice with a bigger cam and the full mufflers and resonators. My 74 has that setup.

Just a thought on this subject. We talk about what we have and why we like the setup, but I guess how you drive, and what you have in your rear means something too. I cruise at 2500 on the highway, and it sounds great(3:23 rear), but another guy with 4:11's will have to do 3500+, so that means alot more noise. So the 40's might be too much.

There is just nothing like looking over a shaker hood. My favorite hood on any musclecar period.
