I don't know how comparable the engines are in your Barracuda & Challenger, the Chally is definitely spotting your A Body Barracuda some extra pounds, but can you say if the 3.23 vs. 3.55 makes any noticeable difference off the line? through the gears? Sounds like they're both so close its almost not worth changing from one to the other? I've got a 3.23 open chunk I could add a posi to for the Barracuda or I've got a drum to drum E Body 3.91 Sure Grip I could just swap in but I'm thinking that's too steep for my plans.

Mate,it's a bit like comparing apples to oranges.
Both cars are very different animals to drive.
The barracuda is a street'n'strip car and it's built to hook and does it very well. But it only uses 5200 useful rpm to achieve best terminal mph.If it had more of an engine that rpm'ed higher the 3.91s or even lower would probably come into their own.
The challenger is more of a show car so putting the power to the ground isn't of concern. With this in mind it'll blaze the tyres if you stand on it.The 3.23s make it feel like a lazy cruiser which is fine for that car.
With a 440 you've got all the torque in the world to push any ratio.Selection mainly depends on intended application.
