Rear Anti-Sway Bar Opinion
« on: June 24, 2010 - 07:28:39 PM »
Hi All-
I'm just looking/comparing different anti-sway bar options.
I like the Firm Feel rear anti-sway bar because it goes over the differential, like the original.
Cruising through eBay, I found this one.
It's from Addco (maybe through Summit?).  Price $143 +$12 shipping = $155.
Made of solid steel, 3/4 in, powder coated, with mounting HW

Your thoughts?

Thanks,
Ron

:iagree: I had a Helwig that mounted under the rearend, and dumped it after a month because it was junk.  It kept snapping the end link because it could not handle the stress, and their tech support was non existent other than to say yeah, that's a problem they've seen before.  Pay the extra money for the Firm Feel, or wait until you get a hold of an original.  You want one that mounts like the factory.

Hotchkis or Helwig rear bar with dog bone pivot endlinks. Not the old smashed doughnut style.

When you run those old style end links with poly bushings you have to have the alignment and angle set right. You may have to adjust the center spacer to the end link is totally paralell with the sway bar end link hole/arm and the frame or axle mount. This angle will change depending on what rear end ride height you are running.

The Hotchkis goes on the axle, but it's pretty light. You don't have to onbolt the rear end or drop the exhaust to get it in. It's adjustable too.
