Okay, now that my T/A hood is done, I'm getting the rest of my car painted and I need a little help with the details. It's not a real T/A, but I'd like to get the flat black areas correct. Based on what I know so far, the cowl, fender gap, rear tail panel and rear edge of the trunk panel (below the spoiler) get the treatment. Is this right?
One detail I'm having a hard time finding is exactly where the black edge starts on the fenders. From the pics I've seen (from a distance), it looks like about 1/4-1/2" down from the corner. Does anyone have a closeup of where that edge should be? Also, for the cowl, where does the bottom edge end? Is there a seam the paint follows? Unfortunately, my car's already at the shop, so I'm not sure what's there.
One final request for opinions. Since I can't affort new bumpers at the moment, and the originals were already painted, I just planned to have them painted the body color. One thing I noticed, though, was the previous owner painted the upper surface of the rear bumper black. I guess that's how the elastomeric bumpers were painted? Any opinions? Paint it all one color or paint the uppers black? Just curious...
Thanks for you help!
