Went for a drive---
« on: June 27, 2010 - 11:59:18 AM »
Took the cuda to the local burger joint where they have a cruise in every Saturday night.    :bananasmi    First drive since I started to make it purty two summers ago. It was four steps forward and only one step back this time.  I have a problem with the carb that I still need to sort out. It stumbles and blows black smoke till I get some rpm built up so I need to do a little more tweeking on it.  So cool being back on the road again.   :woo:    even if it was a little rough.  Here's a couple pics from last night.  Even had a few more Mopars show up for a change. Don't see many E-bodies out much but I plan to change that some in the near future.   :ylsuper:

Nice, glad to see it out and about!

That Orange Challenger looks pretty similar to mine before I put the stripes on!

Tom,

As soon as I saw the wheels, I thought it was your car.    :banghead:

We need to park our cars next to each other

As for the carb, it sounds like either a stuck choke or you're too rich on your idle ciruit.  What brand of carb?

Your car looks great man  :2thumbs: I just came back form a cruise in we have at local ice cream shop. We had some rain come in but cleared up in no time. First time i've driven my Cuda for over a month and and felt great just to get it out and hang out with a few car buddies .

Thanks everyone.  Turned out to be the choke. I have a Holley 770 street evenger with an electric choke. The wire I was getting the power from was only hot with the key in the on position.  Rewired it and it seems to be working better now.  Just ran down to the parts store for a few items and it was running pretty good. Temp is now at 100* here in Boise so I'm off for a little more drive time to see how it will react.  Stay tuned for more pics to come.  Doug     :burnout:
