No front lights
« on: June 28, 2010 - 08:02:40 PM »
I got the starting problem fixed I think(knock on wood) but now I have no headlights or front signals. I have tail lights and my rear markers and break lights. I tried my hazards and my tail lights flash fast, but not my side markers. There's a chance that I accidentally disconnected something under the dash when I was playing under there but I have so many random spare wires under there that I wouldn't know what color to look for. The dash lights work, but the dimmer has old man syndrome and goes bright and dim as I turn it up. I can't do anything tonight, but I'm going to attack it tomorrow.

Start with the middle firewall plug. Looking from the engine side.
First make sure that your ground wire from the headlights and parking lights  is grounded well. It hooks under a bolt on the radiator support right next to the battery. A small ground wire right from the negative battery clamp should go to the same screw.

I wiggled the headlight relay and the lights started working again. I''ll spend a few hours cleaning up the connections and maybe replace the relay while I'm at it.

You didn't tell us that you had put in a relay.   Make sure that it isn't mounted upside down!

Maybe it's not a relay. I meant the little box on the rad support that has a bunch of wires plugged into it.

This is the thing I'm talking about

It's working fine now. I tightened the screw holding it in and checked all the connections
