I agree.  Ask the seller to also put in a new 3 row core and use the same top tank for the radiator. I had one done in '86 and my car still never gets hot.  The 70 383 SE  is the one to get.  When it boiled over was the coolant brown or just bubbly green?  If it was brownish, it could have been a bad head gasket or as bad as a cracked head or block.

Can't do that. He's already sold it on. He had like 4 interested parties on it, myself included.
Couldn't risk it breaking down on the middle of the mountain. I'd have been really f**ked then.
That car is gone. I move on.

Currently looking at a 1974 Challenger, 360 four barrel, 727. Original. Flawless interior. Good paintjob. Rustfree except for the plate underneath the rear window.

How much would it cost to put real HP in a 360? What do I need, and where do I find it? Are there any like.. kits for this?
Any tips on this would be greatly appreciated, because as it stands now I'm back to choosing between the first mentioned 74 360 Cuda and this 74 360 Challenger.

If you're back to choosing between a 74 360 Cuda or Challenger.....go for the Cuda....but if you really want an earlier Challenger then wait a bit...there are more out there.

I'm going to let the Gods in on the decision.

I've contacted a norwegian AMCAR import service with the task of finding me an original 1970/71 Challenger with minimum 383, or a 1970/71 Cuda with minimum 383.
I've given them a financial roof.
If a car has faults, they could restore it over there and paint it original or my color of choice. Alot cheaper than here.
Could take some time, but could be very worth it as what I have to choose between now is crap or crap dipped in chocolate...

Someone know what is supposed to be attached 1 cm above the taillights?
If you zoom on the picture there are several small holes going across just above the lights that look like something should be clipped on there?
I've been unable to see anything there on other cars from pics on the web..
It's a 1970 Challenger 383 R/T SE.
Where can I get whatever it is that is supposed to go there?

The SE and R/T SE had moulding group A63 as standard, including belt molding, front splash pan scoop, cowl moulding and rear Astrotone-painted applique. The rear astrotone fascia is missing in your pic. Here is the option list (pic from Dave's Dodge Challenger pages)

And I googled a pic showing it's neither body color nor black inbetween taillamps and deck lid.

Don't get it.. Is it a cover that goes all the way up to the chrome or is it just a piece of molding like the one going around the edges..?

Do you know where I can get such thingy?

It is a wide molding piece to cover the body area between the taillamp and the deck lid/fender edge moldings. Standard Challenger are body color here and R/T and T/A's are blacked out.  :)

If it ain't the SE panel attachment holes in the pic I have no idea why they are present, though I guess the holes will be hidden by the panel then.

Where to look for this panel, eBay and this message board. And in your country, sooner or later you will get in touch with KS Auto Parts located in Notodden. They are specialized in Mopar Muscle, http://www.mamut.com/ksautoparts/

That Challenger has the wrong bumper on it as well. Looks like a 72 bumper to me. Notice the slots.
What kind of money are you looking at on the Cudas? Right now there are some deals on more desirable cars. Maybe cheap enough to cover shipping a car over. Or, is there a lot of red tape and paperwork once it gets there?

Getting stuff registered here can be a hassle I've heard.

My Cuda alternatives right now are

1972 Barracuda with a 440. Not original.. 250.000NOK = $40.000
1974 Cuda with a 360. Original. Never been restored. 230.000NOK = $36.500
1970 Cuda with a 383. Not original. Got Volvo S60 seats... 225.000NOK = $35.500

Next available step is a 1970 440 at 54000$ - way too expensive.

I tried to buy a limegreen 1970 Challenger SE 383 at $40.000 but it boiled after 30min driving so I returned it.

Then I just now tried to have a 1970 Challenger R/T SE 383 imported. Not matching # for engine.
Seller wants $24500 But price ended up at $43,300 delivered taxed, registered with plates on.
Opted for that to avoid the hassle of doing that myself as they can get pretty square.
Here it is currently at Ebay --> http://tinyurl.com/3yxynnf

That wouldn't happen to be the 70 RT SE Challenger, 383, auto, a/c, plum crazy car 95% done resto project you bought, would it? ;)

I just put my bike up for sale and might be going for a 1970 440 Challenger in region of $49000 if I sell my bike.
Don't really want to though, as the bike got a real awesome truefire paintjob from my bro. Going to regret it.

I don't know. Did some history search and it looks like november-december is the time people tend to sell.
Don't want to buy something I'm not really happy with just to have one. Desperation is a killer.

You still haven't forgot the 72 and 74 Barracuda/'Cuda? You should ask yourself why nobody else have bought from seller when they are being advertized for years. First time I saw those car for sale I geezed over the price and whispered "good luck" before turning to next page. Both cars are still unsold...

Trying to forget, but options are THAT limited right now.

Another $55000 70 Challenger 440 just showed up. :(
