Flew to Oslo, and got picked up by the guy with the Challenger I was going to buy, the lime green one I wrote about...
We drove south from the airport in it for 1 hour. No problems. Looked it over. That car is in damn fine condition...
No rust, new paint, new vinyl roof, flawless interior, 383cid with a 727 automatic trans, killer exhaust pipe mod.
Plus he had one 383 in reserve that came with the car.
So I did the only sensible thing and bought it..
Drove it, heading for home for approx 30 mins, then it boiled over...
The guy I bought it from was very helpful, came and looked at it. Unscrewed the engine thermostat lid in order to remove the thermostat, as this was the obvious reason...
There was no thermostat in it... No apparent reason for it to boil over then. Couldn't take a chance on driving it over the mountain across Norway in that condition, so I returned it to the guy, and will get my money transfered back. Took a train to the airport and flew back home.
EPIC FAIL.
Really depressed. What a great car that would have been to own. It was gorgeous.
Anyway, I'm back to where I started. The search goes on.
