YOU GOTTA BE F##$ING KIDDING ME!
« on: July 01, 2010 - 07:38:48 AM »
 :swear:

ok so i've been putting the tremec back in the cuda this week.. yes this whole stinking week. Couldnt figure out why it wouldnt go back in the car. I put a new collar over the input shaft for the the Ram Clutch TOB and like a good mechanic uses some nice grade 8 washers for the bolts.

well, ive been wrestling with this thing all week thinking it just wasnt lined up correctly or something like that when my buddy comes down to help me out. We pull it back out to have a look see and he notices the washers are hanging over the edge of the collar just a slight little bit... and they look scratched.

SOB!!  :stomp:  that little bit of hang over has been keeping the trans from going into the bell housing. It didnt seem like it because the input shaft was right at the teeth for the clutch plate.

Soooo.. i take the washers off and the thing slips right in...   :woo: :woohoo: :roflsmiley:

Yeah transmissions can be a pain to install. It took me and my dad about 4-5 hours to put in a new transmission on his jeep. Just couldn't seem to get it lined up right lol. Which really sucked for me, as we didn't have a transmission jack so the honor of that position fell to me. I was soooo happy when that thing finally slid in lol.
Cuda is gone :(
