well moper...if 20% is high for loss..then taht doesnt help, that means my 393 is even lower at the wheels then right? 20 factored in gives me 491.25 at the flywheel...see when my engine guy who by the way specializes in bench flowing heads....told me to build a 400 for the street..500 would be and easy goal....that was before i decided to go roller cam, ect..which he tried to talk me out of...said it was wasted money, so his info was that i was gonna make 500 his way withought the roller....i also wanted alums heads...now this was in early 00 mind you...things have changed....flows, money, ect....he told me he could flow 452's just as good as any alums for alot less....AT THAT time mind u......now what he filed me up on is..that steelies with 10.5 dont work with pump gas....I did not know that...or i would of pushed harder for the alum's......so im kinda stuck i guess..ur right...im gonna spend a whole lot more to gain what?? 50 horse???/ BUT i will be able to drive on pump gas.....so being kinda green not sure if i wanna go guessing on a cam change..which heads, possible valvetrain change up....ect........so i guess with my set up its a decent motor, not the torque monster i thought it was.....but i do need to run it at the track or maybe i dont...lol......might upset me further....who knows as far as the heads....so he says.....(like the easy 500hp number) 285 cfm flow......on his ported 452's..... cam wasnt my selection....cam motion picked it....i called cam motion in Lousinana......they ask me a ton of questions...heads, weight, gear, tire, ect.....ask me what i wanted, ect.....they grinded the cam....i have the specs if ur curious....hooked them up with my builder and thats what they put in....i know the lift is right around 567 @.50.....duration ect escapes me, but i can get it for you....is that too small??. for my setup.....wish i had this site before i built too....could of helped me big time...but it was 10 years ago too....lol
