sorry to beat a dead horse but i'm lookin for the best product at the best price...i dunno where to start looking all i know is i dont want asphalt based

There are a lot of them out there! I have had good luck with Dynomat and Hushmat, a little on the pricey side but well worth it. Most of the cheap mats don't work as well. But if you are flipping a car they are good enough.

I installed some dynamat and the rest Fatmat 4 years ago. I covered every inch of the car. Very happy with the difference before and after.

I don't know if you want the 'peel and stick' type, or if you are open to a spray-in coating.
I used Lizard Skin on my Challenger. The car isn't done yet, so I cannot speak about how well it dampens sound. But I can certainly tell a difference when tapping on the sheetmetal. It sprays on pretty easily, too. Not cheap, but it seems to be a good product.
