Crank for the Hemibuild
« on: July 05, 2010 - 02:31:39 PM »
Looks like I got a crank with my Hemiparts that I can't use. :banghead: It's a 8 bolt,
forged crank but the mainjournals are only 2.63" so that indicates it's for a B engine.
Now, can I use a 440 crank or do I need to buy a Hemicrank? If so I could aswell go for a stroker since used ones ain't avaiable over here.

you can definatly use the 440 crank ,the rear flange si smaller & slightly weaker but will easily handle 600+ HP

Thanks Chryco, shouldn't be impossible to find one over here.

BTW, be ready for more hemiquestions. I'm just getting started.

Tried to post some pics of my block since I have some questions regarding the oilingsystem but evidently it's full. Anyway It's a World/Moparblock, casting# 5153843 and machined to 5155072 which means 4.250" finished bore.
Apperently the block is made for external oilsystem because there is no threads for the oilpickup and some extra threaded holes on the front of the block or am I wrong?
