Front disc brake upgrade for a '73 cuda ?
« on: July 06, 2010 - 07:42:19 PM »
Hi all,
I'm looking to upgrade the front disc brakes on my '73 cuda with 11.75" rotors and lightweight calipers... I really like the sbbc brake kits but they only fit drum spindles, and wilwood is too small

Where can I find something to fit ?

Thanks
Victor

Factory set-up is pretty good option if you already have the disc spindles.

Wilwood is too small as in the 10.5" rotor diameter or the caliper size? I've got a kit to adapt Wilwood calipers to the factory 11.75 rotors.

HP2,
Wilwood rotors are too small... Is the kit complete with rotors and calipers or just a bracket ?

All I have is the bracket kit. You would need to source your own rotors, bearings, calipers, and hoses. But, I'll cut you a better deal on it than you can find anywhere else, $150. Add calipers and pads $400, and rotors and bearings for $150 and you have major stopping power with a choice of pad compounds.

BTW, Wilwood does offer a 12.12" kit. This is the biggest you can fit in to some 15" wheels. But they are a bit more expensive than their 10.5" kits.
